Sign this petition! Grave Concerns about Lockdown Policies

A prominent group of 20,720 (updated 10/10/20) Medical and Public Health Scientists and Medical Practitioners have come together to provide a statement and petition against the current health policies of municipalities and state governments surrounding the Covid-19 crisis. Their website expresses “grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies.”

The statement reads:
“Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.”

The group recommends a “Focused Approach” which includes protecting the most vulnerable in our population and applying far less draconian measures for the majority. Their pragmatic outlook allows for resumption of activities and life obligations to those at low risk and continued precautions for those who are in higher risk categories. They recommend opening schools, restaurants, and businesses as well as resuming activities like performing arts, sports, and cultural activities.

The group of professionals also references herd immunity, a scientific/medical reality largely ignored in the main stream with regard to the Covid-19 crisis. The death toll from the Coronavirus continues to fall in the US, even as the number of tests given and cases across the nation continue to increase.

Their website continues to grow in number of petition signers. To date, 190,711 members of the general public have signed the petition. With limited coverage by the media, the website has received minimal attention but YOU CAN SIGN THE PETITION too by visiting the page.
